MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS NAMED SCHOLAR TEAMS
Both the men's and women's track and field teams at Michigan Tech were named Scholar Teams by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women's team posted a 3.43 cumulative grade point average to finish 10th in the nation and second best among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams. The men's team finished 24th in the nation and sixth among GLIAC

GLIAC HONORS 28 MICHIGAN TECH ATHLETES
The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2009 all-academic teams and they included 28 Michigan Tech athletes. The men's track and field team had 12 athletes selected with the women close behind with 11. The men's tennis team had all five of it's eligible players selected to the team.

TWO RUNNERS SIGN NLI'S WITH CROSS COUTRY, TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS
Michigan Tech head cross country and track and field coach Joe Haggenmiller has announced that Jonathon Kilpela of Atlantic Mine, Mich., and Amanda Halonen of South Lyon, Mich., have both signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Huskies during the 2009-10 season.

ENDURANCE SPORTS HAND OUT ANNUAL AWARDS
The Michigan Tech cross country, Nordic skiing and track and field teams handed out their yearly team awards."The winners of these awards are very deserving due to the fact that we have many quality student-athletes on our teams," said head coach Joe Haggenmiller.
