ALLENDALE, Mich. — Michigan Tech fell to 1-2 in women’s tennis today with a 6-3 setback at Grand Valley State. The Huskies picked up points at the top two singles positions and No. 2 doubles but were defeated in the remaining matches.
According to Tech head coach
Mike Axford, the team got off to a slow start in doubles. “We played average as a team. If we had started well, it would have given us some momentum heading into singles.”

Asel Otunchieva posted an 8-2 win in their No. 2 doubles match. GVSU won at both of the other doubles positions including a convincing 8-1 score at No. 1.
