PARK CITY, Colo. - The United States Ski Association released the rankings for the 2007-08 season. Several Michigan Tech skiers moved up the list from the previous season despite the change in scoring this season that made it harder to earn points.

“I was glad to see people move up the points rankings this season,” said head coach Joe Haggenmiller. “The rankings give us a good indication of where we are compared with other programs in the nation.”

Andrew Joda made the biggest improvement moving up 31 spots to finish 134th. Charlie Keller also showed great improvement moving up 29 positions to 157th.

Jesse Lang, who competed in the 2008 NCAA Skiing Championships, was the top finisher for the Michigan Tech men finishing 63rd. Adam Airoldi, who also competed in the NCAA Skiing Championships, just missed out on breaking the top-100 after finishing 103rd. Kevin Heglund finished 120th and Chris Harvey was 130th.

On the women’s side, sophomore Jenna Klein led the Huskies with a 92nd place ranking.

A pair of Michigan Tech alum also fared well in the rankings. Kristina Owen finished 26th and assistant coach Karl Walczak finished 57th.
