BAY CITY, Mich. — Seniors
Bill Behling (Milwaukee, Wis./Bay View) and
Bobby Slowik (Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) of the Michigan Tech football team were both named All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference today. Behling earned All-GLIAC First Team for the second straight season while Slowik garnered All-GLIAC Second Team accolades.
Behling started all 10 games at right guard and anchored an offensive line that helped the Huskies average 355 yards of total offense per game. Tech finished fourth in the GLIAC in passing at 210 yards per game. Behling’s all-league placement means that Michigan Tech has had an All-GLIAC offensive lineman 15 of the last 16 years and an All-GLIAC First Team selection each of the last six years.
Slowik, who was All-GLIAC honorable mention a year ago, tallied 53 receptions for 866 yards and six touchdowns in 2009. He ranked second in the GLIAC in receiving yards per game (86.6) and fourth in receptions per contest (5.3). The 5-10, 170-pound Slowik finished his career with 129 receptions for 2,089 and 14 touchdowns, rating him among Michigan Tech’s top five all-time in all three categories.
Six other Huskies earned All-GLIAC honorable mention. They were senior running back
