DULUTH, Minn. - No. 18 Minn.-Duluth scored four power play goals to defeat Michigan Tech 8-1 Saturday (Nov. 14) in WCHA play. Junior Justin Fontaine led the Bulldogs (7-4-1, 4-3-1) with five points on the night (four goals, one assist).
Sophomore
Brett Olson scored the lone goal for the Huskies (3-7-0, 2-6-0) at 13:11 of the third period. The Superior, Wis., native won the faceoff and then skated around the opposing center man and beat UMD sophomore Brady Hjelle for his fifth goal of the season.
Hjelle (5-2-1) finished the evening with 17 saves on 18 shots.
Freshman
Kevin Genoe (2-5-0) made 16 saves and gave up three goals and sophomore
Josh Robinson made 24 saves and allowed five goals for the Huskies.
After a week off, Tech will travel to Minnesota State for a pair of WCHA games Nov. 27-28.
