WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS NO. 4 SEED IN NCAA MIDWEST REGIONAL

INDIANAPOLIS — The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed into the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament it was announced tonight by the NCAA on NCAA.com. The Huskies will face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe and No. 5-seeded Northwood Friday (March 13) at 8:30 p.m. in first round of the tournament, which will be played at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Ky.
Tech and Northwood are two of four regional qualifiers from the GLIAC. Grand Valley State received the No. 8 seed and will face host and top-seeded Northern Kentucky. Hillsdale is the No. 2 seed with a matchup against Indianapolis. NKU and UIndy are from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, as are are No. 3 Quincy and No. 6 Drury.
Michigan Tech, which owns a 24-6 record, has qualified for the NCAA Tournament two straight years and four times in the last five seasons.

Regional First Round • Friday, March 13 Game 1. Quincy (26-4) vs. Drury (19-9), 12 noon Game 2. Hillsdale (27-3) vs. Indianapolis (22-9), 2:30 p.m. Game 3: Northern Kentucky (28-2) vs. Grand Valley State (20-9), 6:00 p.m. Game 4: Michigan Tech (24-6) vs. Northwood (21-7), 8:30 p.m.
Regional Semifinals • Saturday, March 14 Semifinal 1: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, 6:00 p.m. Semifinal 2: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner, 8:30 p.m.
Regional Championship • Monday, March 16 Semifinal 1 winner vs. Semifinal 2 winner, 7:00 p.m.
