Edwardsville, Illinois — The Michigan Tech men’s cross country team finished 14th of 22 teams at today’s NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Grand Valley State won the meet with a score of 20. Tech posted a team total of 397 and defeated two teams (Northwood and Ferris State) it had lost to at the Great Lakes Intercolleigate Athletic Conference Championships back on Oct. 20.
Senior Adam Airoldi paced the team with a 48th-place finish and a time of 33:14 on the 10-kilometer course.
Brian Stetter was just 15 seconds back with a time of 33:29. He placed 59th of the 154 runners in the event.Chris Schafer (89th, 34:28), Ryan Kruger (100th, 34:45), and Jake Hill (104th, 34:52) rounded out the Huskies’ top five.
“Adam and Brian had good races today and our top five ran pretty well,” said head coach Joe Haggenmiller. “It’s been a tough two weeks of travel, and I’m happy to see us continue to move up.
“Even though we lose some good seniors, I’m really optimistic about the future.”
Michigan Tech’s 2007 men’s cross country season is now complete.
