Redshirt Jay Woodbeck turned in his best performance of the season finishing in 25:23.

Senior Henna Riikonen-Purtsi was the top-finisher for the women thanks to her fifth place finish. She covered the five-kilometer course in 13:23.

Seniors Liz Quinley and Jenna Klein finished 13th (13:46) and 18th (14:14) respectively. Sophomore Christina Mishica finished 21st (14:19).

Redshirt Melanie Hoffman also enjoyed a stellar day finishing in 14:13.

“Overall we skied pretty well,” said head coach Joe Haggenmiller. “I was happy to see us battling with many of the skiers from the region. I am excited to see what happens in the classical race tomorrow.”

The teams will take part in the classical race Sunday (Jan. 24).
