TELEMARK, Wis. - For the second weekend in a row senior
Oskar Lund won a collegiate race at the Central Super Tour. He covered the 10-kilometer classic course in a winning time of 29:28 Saturday (Jan. 31). The following day he was battling for the win but suffered a minor crash. He skied his way back through the field to finish third in the 15-kilometer race in 40:02.
“I am really pleased with how we are skiing right now,” said head coach
Joe Haggenmiller. “The temperatures were pretty cold this weekend but our athletes did not let it affect them.”
Fellow senior
Jesse Lang also enjoyed a successful weekend, finishing fifth in the classic race (30:46) and sixth in the freestyle (40:39).
Sophomore
Jesse Smith posted a pair of top-10 finishes for the Huskies, finishing seventh in the freestyle (40:48) and ninth in the classic (31:36).
Sophomore
Petter Sjulstad finished 11th in both the classic (31:40) and the freestyle (41:24).
On the women’s side, senior
Henna Riikonen-Purtsi posted her first career win in the 10-kilometer freestyle in 30:52. The previous day she finished fourth in the five-kilometer classic race (17:44).
Senior
Jenna Klein posted a pair of top-10 finishes over the weekend. The Ely, Minn., native crossed the line ninth in the classic (18:28) and 10th in the freestyle (32:34).
Senior Liz Quinley finished sixth in the classic race (18:05) and 12th in the freestyle (32:57).

Lynn Duijndam, who was competing unattached, finished 19th overall in the 10-kilometer freestyle in 32:55.
