The SeriesMichigan Tech has a 12-22-4 all-time record against Minnesota State and a 9-9-2 record against the Mavericks in Houghton. The Huskies have a 5-4-1 record in it’s last 10 home games against the Mavericks.

Seigo ScoresFreshman
Steven Seigo continued his streak of at least one point in each two-game series this season after scoring just his second goal of the season Saturday on the power play. He is tied for 23rd in the WCHA with 12 assists. Seigo currently ranks second in the nation in points (2-14--16) by a freshman defenseman. George Hughes of St. Lawrence ranks first with 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 24 games.
Four-Point ExplosionSophomore
Brett Olson recorded four points against UAA, the most since he recorded five points (three goals, two assists) in the season opener against Northern Michigan. The Superior, Wis., native opened his weekend scoring with a short handed goal Friday night. He also scored the team’s previous short handed goal in Tech’s 3-1 win over St. Cloud State on Oct. 30, 2009.
Season-HighJunior
Jordan Baker had his break-out series of the season after tallying four points against UAA, including three points (two goals, one assist) on Jan. 16. His four points was the most in a weekend series since he recorded four (one goal, three assists) against Minnesota on March 6, 2009.
First OvertimeMichigan Tech played it’s first overtime game of the season against Northern Michigan on Jan. 12. The last time Tech played an overtime game was a 6-5 win over Minnesota on March 6, 2009.

Stepping UpThe junior class, which has only four members, ranks last on the team in points but exploded for eight points (two goals, six assists) against Alaska Anchorage.

Future Husky Named Player of the WeekFuture Michigan Tech forward Tanner Kero was named Player of the Week for the North American Hockey League after he rang up three goals and two assists as the Marquette Rangers skated to a two-game sweep over Alpena IceDiggers. On Friday, the Hancock, Mich., native scored a pair of goals in a 5-3 victory. The next night, the 17-year-old put home another goal and two assists as the Rangers doubled up the IceDiggers, 4-2. Kero, was also a plus-1 for the weekend, leads the NAHL in goals with 24.
