SCHOOL RECORD SIX SKIERS QUALIFY FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA released the list of qualifiers for the 2009 NCAA Skiing Championships and a school record six skiers will represent Michigan Tech. Junior Jesse Lang, junior Oskar Lund and freshman Petter Sjulstad will represent the men’s team and junior Jenna Klein, junior Elizabeth Quinley and sophomore Jill Smith will represent the women’s team at the championships held March 11-14 in Rumford, Maine.

“Qualifying six athletes for the NCAA Championships has been our goal all season,” said head coach Joe Haggenmiller. “These six student-athletes are very talented and I am excited to see what they are capable of racing against the nations finest collegiate skiers.”

Lang and Klein will both be making their third appearance at the NCAA Championships, and Quinley will be making her second. Lund, Sjulstad and Smith will be making their first appearance at the championships.
