HUSKIES RETURN HOME FOR WINTER CARNIVAL
After a four game road swing, the Black and Gold will return to the SDC Gym for a stretch of four games over the next two weeks. This week’s contests against Tiffin and Ashland mark the first time that the Huskies will play at home during Winter Carnival since 2006.

FOWLER ON A GREAT SCORING RUN
Don Fowler has become a consistent scorer for the Huskies. The 6-2 guard has recorded at least 10 points in each of his last five games, including a season-high mark of 18 in Tech’s 69-74 loss at Saginaw Valley State. The St. Clair Shores, Mich., hopes to repeat a past performance against Ashland. He recorded a career-high 26 points against the Eagles at the SDC Gym in his freshman season, thanks in large part to seven 3-point buckets.

SERIES HISTORY VS. TIFFIN AND ASHLAND
Michigan Tech and Tiffin have only met three times, but the Huskies have won all three against their foes from Ohio. Tech made 16 3-pointers in the most recent meeting with the Dragons (Jan. 4). The Black and Gold also lead the all-time series against Ashland 12-7, including a 7-3 mark in their last 10 meetings with the Eagles.

STEPHENS ENJOYS CAREER DAY IN ALLENDALE
Tech freshman Eric Stephens reset his career highs in both points and rebounds on Saturday (Jan. 30th) against Grand Valley State. The 5-10 Cincinnati, Ohio, native recorded eight points to go along with four rebounds in his first career start.

QUICK HITS
Five of Tech’s 15 losses this season are by five points or less … Michigan Tech has played 12 games on the road and five games at home so far in 2009-10. The Huskies will play six of their final eight regular season tilts at the SDC Gym …
Tech ranks third in the GLIAC in 3-point percentage with a 36.4 mark … The Huskies have given up the least rebounds per game in the GLIAC with a mark of 30.4 per game.

HEAD COACH KEVIN LUKE
Kevin Luke is in his 16th year on the Michigan Tech bench as head coach. The school’s winningest skipper owns a career record of 278-177 (.614 winning percentage). He is a four-time GLIAC Coach of the Year and was the 2002-03 NABC National Coach of the Year.
