ZIMMERMAN NAMED GLIAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
For the seventh time this season, a Michigan Tech player has been named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week. This time around, it was senior Katie Zimmerman. The 5-6 guard had a week to remember, scoring 19 points in Tech’s 75-71 double-overtime victory at Grand Valley State, and followed that up with a new career high of 26 points in a 75-58 triumph at Ferris State. In the Ferris State contest, the Green Bay, Wis., native also broke her own school record of most 3-point baskets in a single game with eight. Zimmerman ranks seventh in the nation in terms of 3-point percentage with a .471 mark.
STREAM TURNED IN 13 ASSISTS LAST WEEK
Senior guard Sarah Stream registered 13 assists and just two tunovers in the two road games last week. The 5-7 guard had seven assists at Grand Valley State and six vs. Ferris State with only one turnover in each contest. Stream leads the GLIAC and ranks fourth in NCAA Division II in assist-to-turnover margin at 2.68-to-1.
THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
The Huskies will play back-to-back games in the friendly confines of the SDC Gym this Thursday and Saturday for the first time since January 14 and 16. This week also marks the annual Winter Carnival celebration at Michigan Tech. The Black and Gold have not been in town for Winter Carnival since 2006. Tech will play six of its final eight regular season contests in Houghton.

Michigan Tech leads in the all-time series with both Tiffin and Ashland. The Huskies are 3-0 against the Dragons after an 89-63 win at Tiffin last month (Jan. 9). Tech is 11-7 against the Eagles, including a 7-3 mark in the last 10 encounters. See page 5 for complete series history.
