HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Michigan Tech athletics department is pleased to announce that basketball and volleyball season tickets for the 2017-18 season are on sale now at the Central Ticket Office in the SDC (906-487-2073). In addition, football VIP tickets are also for purchase.
Basketball season ticket packages are $184 and include a reserved seat at all Huskies' basketball home games (Including all Men's Basketball Nov. 11-12 Tournament Games) in 2017-18 encompassing 16 regular season dates and 29 total games. At $11.50 per date you receive an 18 percent discount off individual game tickets at $14 apiece.
The basketball teams combined for a 36-22 record last year including a 20-7 mark at the SDC Gym. The women's team advanced to the GLIAC Final Four while posting a 20-8 record (12-1 at home). The men wrapped up 2016-17 with a 16-14 mark (8-6 at home) and also advanced to the Final Four of the GLIAC Tournament. The 2017-18 women's schedule can be viewed by clicking here. Volleyball season tickets are $130 and include a reserved seat to all 13 Huskies' volleyball home matches (Includes all games in the Keweenaw Classic Sept. 7-9) in 2017. At $10.00 per match you receive roughly a 17 percent discount off individual match tickets which are $12 apiece. Single game tickets for volleyball go on sale August 15th.
The volleyball program has taken consistent strides over the last five seasons under Coach Matt Jennings. The Huskies compiled an overall record of 16-15 (11-6 GLIAC) in 2016 and advanced to the GLIAC Quarterfinals. In 2015 under Jennings direction, Tech wrapped up the year with a 19-12 overall record (its highest win total since 2008) and 10-8 in conference play. Each football VIP 4 pack comes with four tickets to every Huskies' home game and access to the VIP Tailgate Party prior to each game with free food and beverage provided by the Bonfire Grill. Free preferred parking in lot 24, free game program (first 300) and game program recognition are also included.
VIP 4 Packs cost $400, and up to $200 may be tax deductible. The VIP ticket program is in its 14th year and this year fans get six games compared to five last season. Michigan Tech's home opener on Sherman Field is set for Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. vs. Truman State while Wayne State is the homecoming opponent (1 p.m. on Oct. 21) this year. The Huskies will also entertain rival Northern Michigan on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in the annual Miner's Cup game. Grand Valley State (1 p.m. on Sept. 16), Davenport (1 p.m. on Oct. 28), and Ferris State (12 p.m. on Nov. 11) are the other home dates. Single game tickets go on sale August 1st.
