WASHINGTON, D.C. – Michigan Tech Athletics earned bronze recognition at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) "Best Of" Awards at the organization's 27th annual convention in the nation's capital at the end of June. The bronze was awarded in the Digital Video Segment as Tech earned recognition from NACMA in the category for the second straight year.
The Huskies were awarded for a social media video produced before the 2017 NCAA Regional hockey game in Cincinnati. It was the second most popular video on all of Tech Athletics Twitter accounts during the 2016-17 school year and the fifth most popular post overall. Missouri Western State University (gold) and the Central Intercollegiate Athletics Association (silver) were also recognized in the Group III category.
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Best Of Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 14 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. In 2017-18 nearly 1,000 entries were submitted through the NACMA Community.
The winners were formally recognized during NACMA 2018 at the closing ceremonies and awards presentation on Saturday, June 30 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
