HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Michigan Tech athletics department is pleased to announce that basketball season tickets for the 2018-19 season are on sale now at the Central Ticket Office in the SDC (906-487-2073). In addition, tickets can be purchased online at buyhuskiestickets.com.
Basketball season ticket packages are $144 and include a reserved seat at all Huskies' basketball home games during the upcoming 2018-19 season. The schedule includes 13 regular season dates and 23 total games. At just over $11 per date, fans receive a 20 percent discount off individual game tickets which are $14 apiece.
The basketball teams combined for a 38-20 record last year, including a 19-9 mark at the SDC Gym. The women's team won the GLIAC North Division title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament while posting a 23-6 overall record.
Sam Hoyt was named the ninth head coach of the Michigan Tech women's basketball program on May 29th. Hoyt returns to Tech from the University of Sioux Falls where she served as an assistant coach. Hoyt was a standout player for the Huskies, helping lead the program to the 2011 NCAA Division II National Championship game as well as garnering multiple individual awards, including All-American Honorable Mention honors.
The men finished the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 15-14 and advanced to the their 21st appearance in the GLIAC Tournament under Head Coach Kevin Luke. Tech reached the semifinals for the 17th time in 2017-18 and has three tournament titles during that stretch.
The home opener for women's basketball is slated for Friday November 16th against Minnesota State Moorhead at 6 p.m. The men's team will take on the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in their home opener on Thursday December 6th at 7:30 p.m. Full schedules for both teams can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
