Econo Foods Kids Day Set for Saturday

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Saturday (Jan. 19) is Econo Foods Kids Day at Michigan Tech Athletics. Tadych’s Econo Foods of Houghton has purchased 500 youth tickets for Saturday’s Michigan Tech Athletic events that it will give away beginning Thursday (Jan. 17) at noon.

The tickets are for children ages 14 and under and are good for all three events on Saturday—men’s basketball vs. Saginaw Valley State at 1 p.m., women’s basketball vs. Saginaw Valley State at 3 p.m. and hockey vs. Bemidji State at 7 p.m.

Econo Foods will give away the tickets on a first-come, first-served basis at its service counter beginning at noon Thursday. They are free of charge, and anyone can pick up the youth tickets with a limit of five per customer.

Michigan Tech Athletics and Econo Foods have partnered together annually for more than a decade on Econo Foods Kids Day.

“This is a great event for our community,” said Jonathan Hamilton, Michigan Tech’s director of athletic marketing. “Our thanks to Econo Foods for helping to give area youth a chance to experience Michigan Tech Athletics.”
