45 Alums Take Part in Reunion Weekend and Game

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech men's basketball alumni, who were on campus this weekend to reminisce with their teammates, added some new memories tonight at the Student Development Complex Gymnasium. The former players split into two squads and played an alumni game.

The Gold Team beat the Black Team 109-104 in an exciting game for fans, friends and family to watch.

Radayl Richardson '05 led all scorers with 22 points for the Gold, which made 13 3-pointers in the 50-minute affair. Four Gold teammates—Chad Bultynck '98, Mike Kissman '98, Jeff Boinski '99 and Josh Buettner '05—notched 12 apiece.

The teams played two, 25-minute halves with lots of substitutions. A total of 45 men's basketball alums were present for the game and more than 30 suited up.

Matt Cameron '03 posted 21 points including several late buckets to help the Black pull within three in the closing minutes. Jason Kreider '00 (13 points), Adam Osypowski '98 (12), Justin Dahlager '02 (12) and Rod Ruth '88 (10) also reached double figures for the Black.

The alumni game capped a weekend of events during Michigan Tech's annual alumni reunion weekend. The group took part in several socials and a golf outing in addition to tonight's game.

"It's a great weekend," said Christian Wilson '88, who played from 1985-88 then served as assistant coach 1994-97. "It's fun to see my teammates and the players that I recruited as Luker's assistant. To be able to tell stories and have an Ambassador pizza together makes it a blast."

J.T. Luginski '03 echoed the sentiments: "Anytime you can get together with these guys, some of whom I haven't seen in five years, it's a good time. We were still pretty competitive tonight and nobody got hurt. The whole weekend was first rate."
