Kyle Bangen begins his sixth year on the Michigan Tech coaching staff as the strength and conditioning coach.
Bangen comes to Tech from Miami (Ohio) University, where he
served as a volunteer assistant strength and conditioning coach for
the Redhawks men’s hockey team during the 2004-05 season.
Prior to his stint at Miami, Bangen was the strength and
conditioning coach at Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Saskatchewan,
from 2002 to 2004. He spent 1999 to 2002 as a volunteer strength
and conditioning coach for the University of British
Columbia’s men’s hockey squad.
The Kamloops, British Columbia, native, received a
bachelor’s degree in exercise science from British Columbia
in 2002 and a master’s degree from Miami in 2005.
A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the
National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a
Certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting,
Bangen has worked with over 300 NCAA athletes and over 100
professional athletes.
Bangen and his wife, Michelle, reside in Hancock, Mich., with
their daughter Aila.
