Devin Kero Becomes Newest Hockey Husky
Hancock, Mich., native Devin Kero will join his older brother Tanner on Michigan Tech’s hockey roster next fall it was announced today by coach Mel Pearson. The goaltender, who was an British Columbia Hockey League All-Rookie Team selection in 2013-14, joins 12 other recruits who have already signed with the Huskies.

Michigan Tech today unveiled its 2014-15 hockey schedule. The 94th season in Huskies history will feature 19 home dates and a top-notch non-conference slate.

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) today announced that Bill Robertson has been selected as the new commissioner of college hockey’s most historic, tradition-rich and successful conference. He accepted a multi-year agreement with the WCHA.

Stebner Signs with ECHL’s Stockton Thunder
Michigan Tech hockey player Brad Stebner (Fort McMurray, Alb.) signed an amateur tryout contract with the Stockton Thunder of the East Coast Hockey League it was announced today by Thunder Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm.

Copley Signs Contract with NHL's Capitals
Pheonix Copley, goaltender for the Michigan Tech hockey team, will forego his final two seasons of eligibility it was announced today by Huskies’ coach Mel Pearson. The North Pole, Alaska, native has signed a contract with the NHL’s Washington Capitals.

Hockey Falls at Bowling Green 5-2 to End Season
Bowling Green State earned a 5-2 victory over Michigan Tech in WCHA First Round Playoff hockey tonight to win the series and advance to the WCHA Final Five next weekend. The Huskies made it a two-goal game twice in the third period but couldn’t get the next goal to keep the momentum.

Bowling Green Takes Game 1 in WCHA Playoff Series
Bowling Green State earned a 2-1 win over Michigan Tech in tonight’s opening game of a best-of-three WCHA First Round Playoff at BGSU Ice Arena. The Falcons took a 2-1 lead after 12 minutes of play and held on through the rest of the game including 1:25 of extra attacker at the end.

Michigan Tech’s Shane Hanna earned All-WCHA Rookie Team honors as the league released its postseason awards today. The Salmon Arm, B.C., native led all WCHA defensemen in league points.

Michigan Tech and No. 17 Minnesota State skated to a 1-1 overtime tie at Verizon Wireless Center on the final day of the regular season. The Huskies needed a win to clinch home ice in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. The Mavericks needed a win to clinch a share of the WCHA title. Neither team got it.

Three Late Goals Give Minnesota State the 3-0 Win over Tech
Michigan Tech played toe-to-toe with No. 17-ranked Minnesota State for 56 minutes before the hosts scored three goals including an empty net tally for a 3-0 victory in WCHA action tonight at Verizon Wireless Center. The Huskies and Mavericks, both with a lot on the line, traded scoring chances and penalty kills in a toss-up game into the final minutes.
