  • Chris Brooks Named Assistant Hockey Coach
    June 26, 2017
    Michigan Tech head hockey coach Joe Shawhan announced the hiring of Chris Brooks as an assistant coach on Monday (June 26). Brooks joins the Huskies from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point where he was the head coach of the Pointers over the past six seasons, leading the team to three straight NCAA Division III Frozen Fours and winning the National Title in 2016. Brooks played collegiately at Western Michigan University.
  • Pairings Announced for Inaugural Ice Vegas Invitational

    Boston College will face Michigan Tech, followed by Arizona State versus Northern Michigan, when the first college hockey games are played at T-Mobile Arena in the inaugural Ice Vegas Invitational on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018. The championship and consolation games will be played Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, with game times both days scheduled for 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

    Michigan Tech head hockey coach Joe Shawhan announced the hiring of Dallas Steward as an assistant coach on Tuesday (June 6). Steward comes to Tech from the Chicago Steel where he was an associate head coach with the team that just won the Clark Cup as USHL champions.

Shawhan is a 20-year veteran of hockey coaching with over 10 years in college and 10 years in junior hockey. He has been an assistant coach for the Huskies for the past three seasons.
