Saginaw Defeats Tech Soccer 3-0
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Samantha Echols scored twice for
Saginaw Valley State in a 3-0 win over the Michigan Tech soccer
team Sunday (Sept. 25).
Echols scored her first goal of the game thanks to a rebound off
her own shot in the 11th minute. She extended the Cardinals lead to
2-0 with her second goal of the game in the 38th minute. Andrea
Grove concluded the scoring in the match after she beat Tech goalie
MaryBeth Spoehr in the 82nd minute.
Spoehr finished with four saves on seven shots for the Huskies.
Katie Boardman and Amber Hynnek each tallied two shots on goal for the
Huskies.
Saginaw (3-4-1, 2-4-1 GLIAC) finished with a 17-12 advantage in
shots over Tech (3-4-1, 1-4-1 GLIAC).
Tech will host Ashland Sept. 30th.
