Grand Valley Blanks Tech Soccer
HOUGHTON, Mich. - Ashley Botts factored into all three goals for
No. 3 Grand Valley State in a 3-0 victory over the Michigan Tech
soccer team Sunday (Oct. 16).
Botts scored her first goal of the game in the 37th minute thanks to a through pass by Tayler Ward.
Kayla Addison scored for the Lakers in the 38th minute off a rebound on her own shot. Botts assisted on the goal.
Botts and Addison teamed up again in the 59th minute for the Lakers' third goal. Addison slipped a through pass to Botts who buried it for her team-leading 15th goal of the season.
MaryBeth Spoehr made three saves on five shots in the first period and Jacqui Landry gave up one goal in one half of work.
Chelsea Parise made three saves in goal for the Lakers.
Grand Valley finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots and were offsides 12 times to just one by Tech.
The soccer team will host Northwood Friday (Oct. 21).
