Women's Tennis Victorious at Findlay 7-2

FINDLAY, Ohio - Michigan Tech scored a 7-2 victory at Findlay today in GLIAC women's tennis. The Huskies controlled play in each of the seven matches that were contested to improve to 3-5. The Oilers claimed their two points by forfeit.

Tech jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles. Natalia Lebedeva and Kira Eck combined for an 8-2 victory at No. 1. Ploy Suthijindawong and Chelsea Uganski were 8-2 winners at No. 2 doubles.

The Huskies swept the top five singles flights-all in straight sets. Lebedeva and Suthijindawong both cruised to 6-0, 6-2 wins at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. For Suthijindawong, it was her fifth straight singles win.

Kira Eck trailed 5-2 in the opening set of her No. 3 match before coming back to win 7-5, 6-0. Uganski posted a 6-3, 6-2 score at No. 4.

Jacqueline Kukulski earned her second win on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 5.

Michigan Tech will wrap up a three-match road trip and six-match road streak with a 10 a.m. match at Wayne State tomorrow.
