Palm Beach Atlantic Tops Women's Tennis 6-3

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Michigan Tech women's tennis team got wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles and No. 2 doubles in a 6-3 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic today. The Huskies fell to 3-11 during 2011-12 with their first action of their spring break trip.

Tech's Ploy Suthijindawong was a double winner on the day with an 8-2 doubles decision with partner Chelsea Uganski and a 6-1, 6-2 victory in her No. 2 singles match.

The Huskies' Natalia Lebedeva won her No. 1 singles flight match 6-2, 6-1. The Sailfish claimed each of the other flights in straight sets.

"We struggled with the elements today," said head coach Kevin Kalinec. "This was our first outdoor match of the spring and there were some pretty high winds."

Michigan Tech plays in Hilton Head again tomorrow with a 12:30 p.m. match vs. St. Joseph's.
