Kevin Kalinec begins his third season as Michigan Tech's head men's and women's tennis coach in 2013-14. He has compiled a 26-21 record with the men and a 17-25 mark with the women in his first two seasons.
Kalinec served as the manager of sports and recreation at Michigan Tech from 1997-2011. A large part of his role in that position was managing Gates Tennis Center and serving as the site professional.
Prior to coming to Michigan Tech, Kalinec worked as senior purchaser for Lukes Retail Chain in Dallas from 1989-97.
Kalinec has been a member of the Professional Tennis Registry since 1982. He worked as the tennis professional at Dallas Athletic Club from 1982-85, then moved to the same position at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas from 1985-89.
As a student-athlete, Kalinec spent from 1980-82 in the tennis program at Grayson College in Sherman, Texas.
Kalinec and his wife, Linda, have one son, Scott, and three daughters—Averie, Erin and Carlin. The Kalinecs reside in Hancock, Mich.
