BAY CITY, Mich. - Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Ghormley was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Monday (Sept. 10) after a pair of stellar performances against conference opposition.
An outside hitter from Oneida, Wisconsin, Ghormley finished with 33 kills and just six errors on 70 attempts for a .386 attack percentage as the Huskies posted sweeps against Saginaw Valley State (Sept. 7) and Lake Superior State (Sept. 8). Ghormley continues to lead the conference in kills (166) and kills per set (4.49).
Joining Ghormley as GLIAC South Division Player of the Week is Hailey Richardson of Wayne State. Richardson helped lead Wayne State to wins against Grand Valley State and Davenport, posting 21 kills and 13 digs vs. the Lakers, and 15 kills 12 digs vs. the Panthers.
Ghormley and the Huskies return to the court on Tuesday (Sept. 11) when they travel to face rival Northern Michigan at 7:00 p.m.
