  • Hockey unveils 2019-20 schedule

    The Michigan Tech hockey program announced its 2019-20 schedule on Wednesday (May 8) in conjunction with the WCHA unveiling its composite schedule. The Huskies have 37 regular season games on the schedule that includes nine nonconference and 28 WCHA contests.
  • Reinke joins St. Louis Blues in Stanley Cup Playoffs

    Former Michigan Tech hockey player Mitch Reinke was called up to the St. Louis Blues on Monday (April 22) for their Stanley Cup Playoff run. The Blues advanced to the second round with a 3-2 series win over Winnipeg Saturday (April 20) and will play the winner of the Dallas-Nashville series.
  • Steman in Calder Cup Playoffs with Hershey Bears

    Dylan Steman is the lone former Michigan Tech hockey player in the American Hockey League (AHL) 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. Steman and the Hershey Bears begin their series against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday at the same arena Tech played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
  • Copley and L’Esperance in Stanley Cup Playoffs

    A pair of former Michigan Tech hockey players are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Pheonix Copley is the backup goaltender for the defending Stanley Cup Champions Washington Capitals, and Joel L’Esperance got called up to the Dallas Stars on Wednesday (April 17).

    The Michigan Tech hockey team held its annual awards team dinner on Tuesday (April 16). Head coach Joe Shawhan recognized seven different Huskies with senior forward Jake Lucchini taking home the Merv Youngs Award as the team's most valuable player.

    Five former Michigan Tech hockey players are on three ECHL rosters for the 2019 Kelly Cup Playoffs. CJ Eick, Riley Sweeney and Cliff Watson of the Kansas City Mavericks, Eric Kattelus of the Kalamazoo Wings, and Michael Neville from the Florida Everblades begin their playoff runs this week.

    Michigan Tech senior forward Dylan Steman signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Hersey Bears the team announced on Wednesday (March 27). Hershey is the primary American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals.

    Michigan Tech hockey players Thomas Beretta, Robbie Beydoun, Seamus Donohue, Devin Kero, Mitch Meek, Greyson Reitmeier, and Dylan Steman were among the 84 recipients of the 14th annual WCHA Scholar-Athlete Award the league announced on Monday (March 18).
  • Houghton ranked a top 10 US hockey city for fifth straight year

    For the fifth year in a row, Houghton has been named a top 10 hockey city in America. The hometown of the Michigan Tech Huskies checked in at No. 10 this year. SmartAsset, a personal finance technology company headquartered in New York, released its fifth annual ranking on Wednesday (March 13).

    Michigan Tech hockey senior forward Jake Lucchini has signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford on Monday (March 11).
