    Michigan Tech travels to Bemidji State this weekend for a WCHA series. Friday's game will be played outdoors at 8:07 p.m. as part of the 13th annual Hockey Day in Minnesota celebration. The two teams will wrap up the series inside the Sanford Center Saturday at 8:37 p.m.

    Former Michigan Tech hockey player Blake Pietila was called up to the NHL's New Jersey Devils on Tuesday (Jan. 1). He has one goal and two assists in 19 career NHL games after he was selected by the Devils in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL Draft. In 201 games at the AHL level, he has 94 points on 51 goals and 43 assists.
