Huskies Rank 24th in AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Michigan Tech volleyball team checks in at No. 24 in the latest AVCA Division II Coaches poll, released on Monday (Oct. 29).

The Huskies, 21-4 overall and 13-1 in the GLIAC following a 3-1 win over Northern Michigan, move up one spot from last week's poll after receiving 144 total points. The Huskies stand 42 points ahead of No. 25 Wingate (24-1) and 19 points behind No. 23 Barry (24-3).

Cal State San Bernardino (22-2) takes the top spot in this week's poll with 1,149 total points and 24 out of 48 first-place votes. Following the Coyotes inside the top five is Western Washington (21-3) at No. 2 with 1,137 points and 20 first-place votes, Nebraska-Kearney (28-2) at No. 3 with 1,020 points and one first-place vote, Minnesota Duluth (22-5) at No. 4 with 974 points, and Northern State (23-3) at No. 5 with 951 points and two first-place votes.

Joining Michigan Tech in the rankings from the GLIAC is Ferris State (21-4) at No. 8 with 810 points, and Ashland (23-5) with 31 points to receive votes.

The Huskies close out their season on the road against Ferris State and Northwood (10-16, 4-10 GLIAC). The Huskies are on a nine-match winning streak against conference opponents, and have already clinched a home match in the 2018 GLIAC Tournament.
