  • Tech Earns USTFCCCA 2017 NCAA Cross Country All-Academic Honors

    The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2017 NCAA DII Cross Country All-Academic Awards were announced Friday, Feb. 9. Both the men’s and women’s Michigan Tech Cross Country teams earned All-Academic Honors. The men’s team held the second highest grade point average in the GLIAC maintaining a 3.34 GPA and the women had the sixth highest with a 3.36 GPA.

    A total of 97 Michigan Tech student-athletes earned recognition from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for academics as the league announced its Fall Academic Excellence Awards and All-Academics Teams.

  • Cross Country Teams Crack Top Ten in Midwest Regionals; Vigil Earns All-Region

    The Michigan Tech cross country teams traveled to Cedarville, Ohio to compete in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship Races at the Elkin R. King Cross Country Course.  The women’s team finished No. 8 and the men’s team No. 9. Junior Emily Vigil earned All-Region Honors. 
  • Tech Women Ranked No. 9, Men No. 10 in Midwest Region

    The NCAA Division II Cross Country Regional Rankings were released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Michigan Tech's women's cross country team is ranked No. 9, followed by the men's team at No. 10 after both teams finished third at the 2017 GLIAC Championships in Marquette last week.
  • Four Named GLIAC All-Conference

    The Michigan Tech cross country teams competed at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday morning at Gentz's Homestead Golf Course in Marquette, hosted by Northern Michigan University. The Tech men's and women's team both clinched a third-place finish. Matt Pahl earned First Team All-Conference honors and Emily Byrd, Liz Bloch and Emily Vigil earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
  • Five Seniors Race in Last Collegiate Competition at Kollege Town Sports Invitational

    Michigan Tech men's cross country seniors Josh Rzeppa, Marcus Shamberg, Michael Tuski, Alex Claerbaut and Cory Burkwald ended their cross-country collegiate careers today at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational. Tech had 10 men runners competing and one member of the women's team participated at the invitational.
  • Emily Byrd Cracks Top 20 at Lewis Conference Crossover

    The Michigan Tech cross country teams traveled to Romeoville, Ill. to compete in the Lewis Conference Crossover, Saturday, Oct. 7. Emily Byrd led the Huskies’ team, placing 18th overall in a field of 359 female racers.
  • Cross Country Teams Host Fall Fundraiser – Trick or Trot

    The Michigan Tech cross country teams are hosting their annual 5K fundraiser this fall, Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Michigan Tech Trails. This race is cross country's major fundraising event of the year and proceeds will benefit the Tech men's and women's cross country teams. Register now, or before Oct. 26 for a discounted rate.
  • Huskies Men’s Cross Country Team Wins Bay College Invitational

    The Michigan Tech cross country teams raced in the Bay College Invitational Saturday (Sept. 30). The men’s team took first place overall and the women’s team had two racers compete.
  • Vote For Matt Pahl Cross Country Hero of the Week

    Matt Pahl has been nominated for the D2 Men's Cross Country HERO of the Week award, an award from HERO Sports that recognizes the best individual performances of the week for NCAA sports. In a field of over 400 racers, Pahl led the Huskies with a 15th-place run in the 8K Roy Griak Invitational. He ran a time of 26:35.

    The Michigan Tech Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country Teams traveled to UW-Parkside to compete in their first race of the 2017 season. The women competed in a 5K race, while the men raced in the 8K. Top finishers for the Huskies were Emily Byrd and Matthew Pahl.
