MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Michigan Tech Cross Country, Nordic Ski, and Track & Field coaches Jake Isaacson and Tom Smith have announced the second annual Michigan Tech Cross Country/Nordic Ski/Track & Field Twin Cities Alumni & Friends Event. The event will be held on Friday, September 28, on the eve of the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota.
"We're excited to build upon last year's alumni and friends gathering," said Isaacson, head coach of the cross country program. "With Tom and I still being rather new in our positions, being able to connect with former MTU student-athletes is really humbling as they laid the ground work for the success and progress our teams have had."
The event will be located at the Falcon Heights Church – United Church of Christ, where Michigan Tech alumni and friends of the program will have a catered social dinner with current coaches and student-athletes of the Michigan Tech cross country team. The alumni will also have the opportunity to cheer on Michigan Tech runners the next day at the Roy Griak Invitational, held at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course.
"This should be a fun event, and I'm excited to see some familiar faces on that weekend."
